I will never laugh again ...

Back in February I took my son and 19 year old niece, Allie, on an adults only vacation to Disneyland. We all had a grand time. There was no fighting, no name calling, no drama ... nothing. We bought a blinking balloon, each wrote a message to my mom, and then sent it up in the night sky. We watched it for a long time ... at times it looked like a twinkling star. We made many new memories, remembered old Disney memories (with my mom) and laughed until we nearly wet our pants. It was blissful, and all three of us needed it.

While on this trip I saw several people take pictures of their food. Odd, I thought. Allie thought so too. We laughed and commented how crazy it was that people would get so excited while snapping away photos of something they were about to eat.

This week I've been doing some 'net surfing. In search of food. Yes. Pictures people have taken of the food served to them while on a cruise ... the Disney Fantasy to be exact. Allie and I are going to be on this ship in October and I was wanting to see what kinds of food would be available. I am somewhat picky when it comes to what I eat. I am a simple kind of girl ... give me a hamburger and fries, or a steak and potato and I am fine. Throw a plate of dead snails or a roasted duck in front of me and I will beg for chicken fingers from the kids menu. I don't like bleu cheese, or goat cheese or feta, but I do like mac and cheese. I love SOME seafood, but stick my nose up to a lot. So, I want to see what's served on this cruise so I know if I'll be ordering room service often. I found very little. Perhaps the fact that this particular boat just started sailing (less than a month ago) may be why there is very little available. But as I sat in front of my computer, watching video after video of the staterooms, the water roller coaster, the deck party I began to think those people taking pictures of their food in Disneyland may not be so crazy after all.

I imagine soon I will be finding myself whipping out my camera, with a smile on my face, full of excitement as the waiter places a plate of chicken fingers, mac and cheese and french fries in front of me. And never ever will I again laugh at someone else for doing this. Allie on the other hand, well she may be embarressed by the time our cruise is over, because I plan to take a photo of everything I eat, and everything she eats too, and sharing it here for all the world to see. :)

St Patty's Day and Easter ...

I plan to visit my mom for every holiday and some "in between" days as well. I also plan to post pictures here to remember.
